A Night at The Ottomani

Where will you and your partner spend your next date? Well, there are definitely so many places out there you can spend a special evening in, but obviously you want the best! Let’s say you’re looking for a place that isn’t too popular but at the same time classy. Let’s say you want a place that’s private but also not isolated.

Let’s say you want a place that’s perfect for just you and your partner. Well, The Ottomani is a great place for you! Okay, some couples like to be seen being romantic in public, but maybe not you. Maybe you’d enjoy privacy with your partner because after all, the whole point of going out with your partner is to be with your partner and not with other people.

Maybe the Ottomani is the perfect place for you. Oh yeah! Here’s the best part, there’s also a bit of secrecy and adventure to this place. In fact, you might not even be able to spot it right away. Located next to the classy Fat Prince café and bar is one of the hidden jewels of Singapore, the Ottomani.

Inspired by restaurant in the Middle East, the Ottomani not only looks luxurious but also serves luxurious food making you and your partner fee like royalty. Enjoy your meals as you sit on plush couch for extra comfort and enjoyment. The best way to start your dining experience at the Ottomani is by going for the Hokkaido Scallops which cost about 24 Sing Dollars and are served with mojama (or salt-cured tuna), fennel, and pomelo amba, which provides the dish with some acidity.

Starting off with this dish is a guarantee in itself that your night will be perfect! Enjoy the night with your partner at the Ottomani. Oh yeah! Once you’re done with dinner and are looking to order a couple of drinks, you can just head over to the bar where you can enjoy a couple of drinks, a couple of laughs, and most importantly, a couple of smiles with your partner.

Don’t just fill the night with romance, turn the night into romance itself! You can’t go wrong with taking your partner to the Ottomani. It’d be really hard to ruin a night set in this perfect restaurant.

Finding the Ottomani might be quite hard which adds to the thrill but for your sake, here are the directions. We don’t want you to spend your Valentines having to roam around in circles. Better get a reservation! Even if this place isn’t flooded by the general public, other couples might also want to spend their Valentines at the Ottomani.

The Ottomani is located at 48 Peck Seah St 079317.

Pros and Cons of Leaving Our Comfort Zone

If we want to be successful here in Singapore, we have to take risks. If it doesn’t work out, we have nothing but experience to carry around. Taking risks means leaving our comfort zone. Comfort zone refers to the psychological state which a person feels familiar, in control and at ease. The person within his/her comfort zone feels low anxiety and low sense of risks.

Many people say that the magic happens outside our comfort zone. This doesn’t mean that we have to go outside Singapore to take risks. This means that we have to try things that we fear and stop playing safe if we want a difference. If we are thinking about leaving our comfort zone, we have to know the pros and cons. Here are the pros and cons of leaving our comfort zone:

  • Pros: When we leave outside our comfort zone, we will understand more about ourselves or others. There is no doubt that our zone will expand. It does not end there because when we step outside, we will surely improve our self-confidence. Notice that when we see other people outside their comfort zones, they look happier and more satisfied; these people are called extrovert because they know a lot of people and they experience lots of things. Without a question, if we are outside the comfort zone, we learn how much we are actually capable of. More importantly, stepping outside can bring us knowledge and wisdom. Need we say more?

  • Cons: There is always something that can hold us back. Thinking about the cons is natural because we fear the unknown. Yes, stepping outside our comfort zone is frightening. We do not know if something bad might happen and it is scaring us. That is understandable since we are in a new territory and we still need to explore it. If we go outside the comfort zone, there is a tendency that people will judge us. Some people disregard stepping outside because they think that everything is fine how it is. We often hear that what we do not know will not hurt us, this is also applicable for staying inside the comfort zone – we think that ignorance is bliss. We might also miss what we left and more importantly, we are afraid that we won’t be able to cope if things do not work out.

Now we know the pros and cons of leaving our comfort zone. It is time that we weigh things and make it happen. We are not forced to leave everything but this is worth the thought. Let us ponder on this.

Financial Fears of Every Singaporean

You live in an uncertain world. Singapore can be rough sometimes but with that, many opportunities will come. It is normal to be scared especially if you think about your financial standing but you need to face your fears to get by. You should think that you are not alone. If you know what to do, you will surely prosper here in Singapore or wherever in the world.

As mentioned above, you need to face your fears to get by. With that, here are some tips on tackling your fears so you can start increasing your savings:

  • Budgeting: There are people who are scared of budgeting because it means cutting back expenses and taking away the freedom of spending freely. If you do not like to call it budgeting, you can call it something else – strategic planning.
  • Determining financial status: Some ignore their financial status. It is essential that you determine, assess and examine your financial statements, savings, loans and other debts. This is an act of admitting that you may have little savings or you overspent. This is your way of acknowledging a problem before you begin looking for the right solution.
  • Understanding financial jargon: Not all people understand financial jargons. Remember that any information that can help you with your finances can make a difference at the end of the day. Do not be ashamed to reach out for help if you do not understand anything. If you want, you can look for many references. It is best if you have financial adviser.

  • Not having enough to invest: People are afraid to invest because in the first place they do not have enough to invest. That is not an issue. The investment world is vast. You can start small and eventually make it grow.
  • Not taking risks: If you are the type that does not take risks because you are afraid of the consequences, you have to realize that the investment world has different tolerance levels. If you are a risk taker, you may invest in stocks but if you want fewer risks, you can consider government bonds.
  • Losing money because of financial mistakes: Admit it, people make mistakes sometimes. If you are too afraid to lose money because of financial mistakes, you will retire in mediocrity. When you make decisions, base it on facts not just hearsays or suggestions.

Hopefully the tips given above will suffice. Everyone gets scared at all times but the trick is to tackle it before it takes a toll in your life. Matters about your finances should be faced valiantly. No matter what happens, you have to stand and fight.

Singapore’s National Day

Every year, it is a must for every country to celebrate ever y significant day whether it is a bad experience or good or perhaps it is a success or defeat. Why? This is because it is part of history – the past events that can never be replaced, altered or edited. Every August 9 marks the most important day for all Singaporeans. This is the country’s National Day – a day that the nation achieved independence from Malaysia.

The National Day was first held at Padang in the year 1966. This year, the country will celebrate its 48th day of independence. In the past decades where Singapore was not freed yet, they took their problem as a challenge instead of plunging themselves to the problem. Because they accepted and won the challenge, a sweet triumph was obtained by the country.

When August 9 hits the Singapore calendar, the city changes its appearance – from a vibrant city to a patriotic one. In the entire country, you will see national flags on almost all establishments which includes business firms/buildings, convenience stores as well as public houses.

Patriotism is not the only act that is seen in the metro because there are also act of entertainment. This is by the performances by different groups that will perform on during the said holiday. Also, it is not forgotten that every year, Singapore officials are making yearly reports and updates on the activities, financial status, infrastructure projects, technological advances and other updates which involve the plans of the government.
